Man, you guys just straight up rock! I'm listening to the 10-07-2005 show from The SPPS site. I missed you guys last time you were in St. Louis and still regret it. Stop by when you can.

Also, I spread the word about you guys when I can and link to you guys from my site. http://edookie.com I'd love to see a Sawmill Band/Two High show one of these days! Peace.
new site looks great, album sounds great, poster looks great in my dining room, i need the 3-XL shirt though, cause i'm so great...
The new site looks fantastic, excellent job by all responsible. I can't wait to hear the new album with the sextet. And the album cover looks great, long live the Mason Jar!
Sorry I missed you guys when I was in Texas last weekend, prior obligations with the lady. When am I going to see you boys up in my neck of the woods again? The Purple Fiddle would love to have you back and there are ample spots to play in the bluegrass hills of Virginia. As for Richmond, there are a couple great spots including this bad boy in my hometown of Ashland.

http://www.ashlandcoffeeandtea.com/

It's a listening room where the likes of Tim O'Brien and Darrell Scott have played with great acoustics and a nice scene. There are also plenty of bars that could guarantee a decent crowd any night of the week.

Congrats on the new album and keep churning out the tunes!

- Jeff Chadwick
Yes.... its about time... nice new web design. Way to go Ben!!!
New Website looks great guys. Billy, you're so handsome. I want you in a 'straight but confused' way.

Hey Brian, Billy and Jeff. Great shows this weekend (especially the one at ZOE, ridiculous!).

It was awesome hanging out with you guys! Let us know if you come back to the area.

Drink their music in, it always goes down smooth. ;)

When I hear your music, I am reminded of a golden hawk, screaming down the mountain side...

Lincoln Nebraska, can't wait, see you guys there!
Great time at the Purple Fiddle, at least I think remembering having a good time thanks in large part to the prices at the Sportsman's. Definitely rank it up there with one of the best THSB shows I've seen. Thanks for the crash space and I hope to see you boys up around these parts again - let me know what I can do to lend a helping hand (handbills/venue information, etc.).

Until next time,

- Jeff in Richmond
Enjoyed your show on Main St., at Musikfest in Bethlehem, PA. I didn't know the band, I do now. I loved the guitar and mandolin playing in harmony. I'm going to recommend the band to play at next year's Musikfest. I saw (and heard) Billy in the "Texas Trio" last year in Wind Gap and was blown away by his picking. I hope to see Two High in my area again!
Gregg
Enjoyed your show at the Dunegrass festival in beautiful Empire Michigan. It was a beautiful day, in a beautiful place, with some fantastic music. Thanks for coming!

Unfortunatly, I'm moving back home to Omaha, Nebraska, so it looks like the Cactus Café will be the last place i can listen for awhile, please consider touring the midwest, i think many people would come out to listen!
Insofarasmuch is their only album available for purchase as Two High String. Get Bryn and Billy's self titled release too. It won't leave your cd player once youve got it on.

I'm trying to find other CD's of yours - Insofarasmuch is awesome and I can't seem to locate any. Can you help?

i finally got a copy of two high's set from rockygrass, and it is really neat and swell. nah, it is THE SHIT. i really like billy's voice. i have seen him play the mando before in the peter rowan band, but of course, mr. rowan sings most of the songs in that situation (at least when i have seen them...) i think billy's voice sounded kind of lou reed-esque, which is fun. that alabama song ROCKS. i hope you guys come out to colorado to live right nextdoor to me and build a stage so i could sit on my deck and just watch all night everynight. oh, i wish, i wish indeed. well, at least come back to colorado and play in ned again or come down to fort collins and play at avogadro's number or the aggie or SOMETHING!
whats up on some shows around austin? Billy Bright side project? Lets see the dates!
What's the scoop on the Billy Bright side project. I need some dates. Sounds like the muthafuknsht. -late
Hoping to see Two High come southeast again soon. There is something extremely special going on when you guys play. It's unreal how each of you add such perfect balance to the Two High sound as a whole, and give traditional music that extra kick that makes your sound so unique. Safe travels and hope you are considering coming our way.
Srry... Too many beers
Where are the shows? I need my fix.

Your killing me. -Poster nut-bag
Hey all,

Wanted to let everyone know that the show from April 25th is now available in lossless FLAC format. The show was recorded completely acoustically, without any amplification of either instruments or vocals. The vocals are a bit low as a result, but the instrumentals are fabulous.

If you would like to hear it in FLAC, simply click this link http://tinyurl.com/2kwdg and the web download will start immediately. The link will be good until Friday 6-4-2004, after which time I will be happy to post another.

If you would prefer MP3, use this link: http://tinyurl.com/2x5wc. The sound quality is noticably poorer than the FLAC version, but it is much smaller and will work on standard MP3 players etc.

If you don't have the FLAC front-end program, which you'll need to either play in winamp, or decode to wave for burning to CD, it can be found here for windows users: http://cyberial.com/flacinstaller.asp

I will be posting this show to the Live Audio Music Archive (LAMA) as soon as the band gives permission. Please contact me at chris@blackboxradio.org if you have any questions.

Enjoy,

Chris Black
Hey all,

Just a note to let everyone know that the link posted below to the 4-25-04 show will only be valid until 5-21-04. I will try to post a replacement when it expires.

If you have tried to contact me at chris@blackboxradio.org and gotten an undeliverable message, please try again. I have been having mail issues, but they have since been resolved.

Thanks,

Chris Black
Hello and greetings from the gustative planet -

I've just acquired a copy of the 11/09/02 show from the Harvest Moon Festival at Jacob's Well. For those interested in a trade or maybe even a freebie, let me know at chad355@yahoo.com. It sounds great and is very solid throughout. Here's a setlist:

Can't Run Away from Your Feet
Insofarasmuch
Mandola Smokabowla
Way Down Town
Newlenberg County
New Moon Over My Shoulder
Kentucky Mandolin
River's Risin'
Somewhere Between
Pig in a Pen

Dang Howdy
Crossing the Bone
Sonny's Ride

Until next time.
Hey Now,

I have a brand new seed of the 4-25-2004 (Texas House Concerts, Houston) show if anyone is interested. This show was totally acoustic, with no amplification of either instruments or voices. It's only in MP3 right now, but will be uploaded to the Live Music Archives at archive.org as soon as I get the band's approval.

Never fear though, this is VBR MP3 at the highest quality setting. It sounds fantastic!

The show is available here: http://tinyurl.com/2v22o . Just click on it, or cut and paste into your browser and the download will start immediately.

I could use some help on the setlist. I have the list they brought with them to the show, but there are a few places where they deviated from it, and I don't know their work well enough to be able to fill in the gaps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone interested in a lossless copy of this show, or to help me with the setlist, please write to chris@blackboxradio.org.

Chris Black
Hey guys -

Sorry for the double post last time, I guess my index finger just got a little trigger-happy. Anyway, I was just sitting here, killing time, and wondering what other John Hartford covers Two High does. Now I've heard Can't Run Away from Your Feet, Back in the Goodle Days, Steamboat Whistle Blues, and Vamp in the Middle. Are there any others?

Jeff (who's waiting for that Steam Powered Aereoplane set)
WOW! Of all the great acts to listen to at Merle Fest, 2highstring is by far one of my favorites. I am looking foward to seeing them play here in NC again. They've got a sound that will astound and please you.
I caught the band for the first time at Merlefest last week and was absolutely blown away. Anyone have any quality live recordings floating around?
