Too many beers From poster nut-bag, posted on June 7, 2004 at 08:52PM Where are the shows? I need my fix. Your killing me. -Poster nut-bag From Chris Black, posted on June 1, 2004 at 12:06PM Hey all, Wanted to let everyone know that the show from April 25th is now available in lossless FLAC format. The show was recorded completely acoustically, without any amplification of either instruments or vocals. The vocals are a bit low as a result, but the instrumentals are fabulous. If you would like to hear it in FLAC, simply click this link http://tinyurl.com/2kwdg and the web download will start immediately. The link will be good until Friday 6-4-2004, after which time I will be happy to post another. If you would prefer MP3, use this link: http://tinyurl.com/2x5wc. The sound quality is noticably poorer than the FLAC version, but it is much smaller and will work on standard MP3 players etc. If you don't have the FLAC front-end program, which you'll need to either play in winamp, or decode to wave for burning to CD, it can be found here for windows users: http://cyberial.com/flacinstaller.asp I will be posting this show to the Live Audio Music Archive (LAMA) as soon as the band gives permission. Please contact me at chris@blackboxradio.org if you have any questions. Enjoy, Chris Black From Chris Black, posted on May 19, 2004 at 08:35AM Hey all, Just a note to let everyone know that the link posted below to the 4-25-04 show will only be valid until 5-21-04. I will try to post a replacement when it expires. If you have tried to contact me at chris@blackboxradio.org and gotten an undeliverable message, please try again. I have been having mail issues, but they have since been resolved. Thanks, Chris Black From Jeff Chadwick, posted on May 18, 2004 at 04:01PM Hello and greetings from the gustative planet - I've just acquired a copy of the 11/09/02 show from the Harvest Moon Festival at Jacob's Well. For those interested in a trade or maybe even a freebie, let me know at chad355@yahoo.com. It sounds great and is very solid throughout. Here's a setlist: Cricket in the Kitchen Crossroads Bar Can't Run Away from Your Feet Insofarasmuch Mandola Smokabowla Way Down Town Newlenberg County New Moon Over My Shoulder Kentucky Mandolin River's Risin' Somewhere Between Pig in a Pen ?? From Chris Black, posted on May 14, 2004 at 04:19PM Hey Now, I have a brand new seed of the 4-25-2004 (Texas House Concerts, Houston) show if anyone is interested. This show was totally acoustic, with no amplification of either instruments or voices. It's only in MP3 right now, but will be uploaded to the Live Music Archives at archive.org as soon as I get the band's approval. Never fear though, this is VBR MP3 at the highest quality setting. It sounds fantastic! The show is available here: http://tinyurl.com/2v22o . Just click on it, or cut and paste into your browser and the download will start immediately. I could use some help on the setlist. I have the list they brought with them to the show, but there are a few places where they deviated from it, and I don't know their work well enough to be able to fill in the gaps. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Anyone interested in a lossless copy of this show, or to help me with the setlist, please write to chris@blackboxradio.org. Chris Black From Jeff Chadwick, posted on May 7, 2004 at 03:57PM Hey guys - Sorry for the double post last time, I guess my index finger just got a little trigger-happy. Anyway, I was just sitting here, killing time, and wondering what other John Hartford covers Two High does. Now I've heard Can't Run Away from Your Feet, Back in the Goodle Days, Steamboat Whistle Blues, and Vamp in the Middle. Are there any others?
